O’s Grill was founded by Otmane, who immigrated from Morocco in 2006. While working full-time in manufacturing and learning English, he began selling food from a weekend hot dog cart in downtown Cedar Rapids, introducing the community to the bold, authentic flavors of Moroccan cuisine with gyros and shish kabobs.

“What I’m most proud of is the journey from starting as a small hot dog cart to becoming a staple in the Cedar Rapids community. Serving high quality, flavorful food and knowing that it resonates with people is what drives me every day “

In 2015, Otmane took a leap of faith leaving the stability of his job to follow his passion full-time by launching a Mediterranean food trailer. His flavorful, freshly prepared dishes quickly gained a loyal following. In 2021, even during the challenges of a global pandemic, he opened O’s Grill as a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

Now, over 15 years later after the hot dog cart beginnings, O’s Grill is a proud part of the Cedar Rapids food scene. You can find their famous hummus, white gold sauce, and baklava at the Co-op!

“I love being able to connect with people through food. Seeing the joy and satisfaction on their faces when they taste our dishes is truly rewarding. Food has a way of bringing people together, creating memories, and sharing culture, and I’m proud that O’s Grill plays a role in that. “
