Become an Owner

At New Pioneer Food Co-op, we love food.

We care about where and how it is grown, and how it tastes. We believe that it is possible to do the right thing for your health, to protect the environment, and to strengthen the local economy when you shop at the Co-op.

Ownership is $60 for a lifetime. Should you choose to relinquish your share, the Co-op will buy it back. Owner or not, everyone's welcome to shop!

Any of our cashiers would be happy to help you become an owner.

It’s Simple to Become an Owner

Everyone is welcome to purchase an owner share in the Co-op. It’s a tradition for people who love good food, care about the environment, and like the idea of a community-owned grocery.

The owner share is a one-time investment of $60, and privileges extend to those with whom you live and share food expenses. Any customer service team member will be glad to sign you up. If you choose to relinquish your owner share, the Co-op will buy back your share. When you become an owner, you'll be joining 33,000+ (yes, that number is correct!) of your neighbors who are already owners!

How Does the Co-op Work?

Your $60 owner share provides the capital to stock our stores and improve our facilities. Ownership means saving more on local items at all our locations and helping guide the future of the Co-op by voting in Co-op Board elections. The Co-op Board sets the course for the business, and hires and directs the Co-op’s general manager (GM).

New Pi is proud to be a community-owned business. Our owners support the local economy by shopping at the Co-op. In turn, the Co-op bolsters local farmers and food producers by providing a market and support for their products. Through New Pi’s Soilmates Organic Garden Education in area schools and numerous outreach events, we provide educational events open to everyone.
