2001 was a big year for the Co-op

It saw the opening of New Pi’s second store in Coralville, featuring a larger store footprint, an in-house bakery and cooking class facility which has hosted over 1,000 classes to date. That same year, New Pi also helped found Field to Family a local organization that connects farmers with families and schools while supporting our local & regional food system.

Local Partnerships

Though local offerings have always been an essential part of the product mix at the Co-op, in the 2000’s New Pioneer partnerships with local producers took off with local product sales topping $1 million dollars annually by 2007. New Pi continues to build relationships with local growers and producers in the area and be the leading source for locally grown groceries in the area.
