Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge
This gorgeous blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, at 10% Mourvedre is filled with plum, black raspberry, and woodsmoke flavors that follow the spicy, hickory scented nose. Supple tannins and a slight savoriness round it out, making it a natural companion to beef stews, lamb dishes, and caramelized root vegetable dishes. 91 points Wine Advocate
The stunning copper-pink cast of this direct-press Oregon Rose makes it especially festive for the holiday season! Juicy strawberry and raspberry fruit is enlivened with tart touches of dried apricot and clementine skin, giving it a palate-cleansing acidity and minerality that makes it a super versatile food wine. Wood-plank grilled salmon, Chicken with Dijon-tarragon cream sauce, smoked cheeses, and all kinds of appetizers are made all the better with Elouan Rose.
Horizon de Bichot Chardonnay
The Horizon wines are winemaker Albert Bichot’s expertise applied to grapes grown outside Burgundy albeit in Burgundian style. This French Chardonnay is delightfully crisp and well-rounded with hints of almond, lily, grapefruit, and vanilla. Perfect with winter squash soup or a first course risotto followed by a succulent roast.
Bee’s Box Pinot Noir
The bee that grew into a swarm prompted the Coppola Family Winery to build their very own Bee’s Box, to protect both their thirsty guests, and their pollinating little friends. Always a champion of sustainability, the Coppola family donates 10% of the profits from the sale of their “Bee’s Box” wines to organizations dedicated to protecting the bees we all need. This Pinot opens with aromas of cranberries and black cherries. The racy fruit is dominated by raspberry, nutmeg, plum and even a hint of coffee in the silky finish. It’s fall comfort in a glass-perfect with a bubbly baked pasta with smoky sausage and pumpkin-sage sauce. The Chardonnay is decadent-with a rich crème brûlée texture and vibrant notes of pineapple, melon, and roasted nuts.
Fable Cabernet Sauvignon
If you’re looking for a red “house wine” for the Holiday Season”, this is it! Who doesn’t love a classic California Cabernet for under $15? Blueberry, cocoa, leather, and cinnamon pop out of the glass; the lush, full bodied mouthfeel is packed with red currant, vanilla, and cigar box. The peppery tannins frame the finish nicely, creating the perfect foil for a pan-seared steak with gorgonzola butter, or an earthy grilled eggplant and portobello sandwich with garlic aioli. At this price (plus the 10% half-case discount!), it’s a great addition to your holiday pantry.
At New Pioneer we boast decades of collected expertise that help us separate the wheat from the chaff and bring you only the best wines. We pursue producers who make wines with fruit grown in vineyards tended with love and respect for the natural health of the soil. These winemakers believe that a good wine is made in the vineyard, therefore needing little manipulation in the cellar. They know when to bottle at the perfect time so that the wine will express its full aroma and flavor without additives. There is a strong affinity worldwide between wineries who follow these principles, they talk to each other, taste each other’s wine, and thus the culture is carried on. Aldonia is one of such wineries. The fruit: 60% Grenache, 40% Tempranillo. Strawberries and cranberries on the nose. The palate is fresh, juicy, and structured. 90 points by Decanter
