Coralville Co-op Construction Update 5/23/19

The remodel is in full swing here in Coralville and we’ve got some new features to unveil to you!

We are nearing the completion of our improvements to the Meat & Seafood department and we hope to be operational this afternoon (Thursday, May 23).

You’ll now see new features like an extended self-serve case, fresh wall tiling, and LED lighting. See photos below.

As we approach the weekend, we are moving improvements onto the retail floor, brightening the store up with new high bay LED lighting. The difference between the LED and our old Halogen bulbs is quite noticeable. Electricians will continue to work through the store and replace all our existing bulbs with LED fixtures over the course of the next week. See new photos!

Monday, May 27, will be the last day that we will be offering made-to-order sandwiches here at New Pi Coralville.

Starting Tuesday, May 28, we will begin improvements to our Prepared Foods department as well as moving around some of our coolers and fixtures under the Mezzanine. Please excuse our progress on Tuesday, as our deli will not be open for some minor construction work.

The first week in June we'll install a new food island in the Prepared Foods area featuring a salad bar, expanded hot food options, and more soup varieties. This will enable us to provide more clean food options for dining in and on-the-go.

During this process we will temporarily relocate our hearth breads to the front of the store and move our tea, coffees and packaged breads to other spaces in the store.

Stay tuned for more weekly updates on our progress.

And, thank you for your patience during our remodel – we look forward to serving you better!
