We recently started our remodel here at New Pi Coralville.
We have been doing things behind the scenes for several months, but you will start seeing more changes on the retail floor over the course of the coming weeks.
Much like our Iowa City remodel project, we have been planning updates to the CV facility for the past year.
This past December we converted our entire refrigeration system to a more environmentally friendly and efficient refrigerant. This was a necessary step as we knew we would be looking to update our store format, install new refrigeration units and continue to be a good steward to the environment.
At the same time, we removed a beverage cooler from the front of our store to open our space and provide a more inviting experience as you enter.
We currently are in the process of painting the interior of our store, providing some much-needed color. See pictures below!
Next week we will be replacing all our high bay halogen lights with more energy efficient LED light fixtures that will provide better light coverage and reduce our energy bills.
Starting the week of May 20th, we will remove our aging Meat and Seafood cases and install a new 20ft Meat case along with a full-service Seafood case.
Pardon our progress at the beginning of the week as we will not have service at the meat counters for a few days during the installation and removal process. While the mechanical contractors install our new units, we will spruce up the department with new tile work, a new ice machine and some new lighting to the department.
We aim to be up and running with the new format by the beginning of Memorial Day weekend.
Stay tuned for more weekly updates throughout the rest of the store. I also want to thank you all for your patience during the remodel as we are looking to serve you and our teams better as we move forward.
