Service Team Shift Supervisor

This customer focused supervisory position works all aspects of our full service retail grocery and prepared foods stores. Supporting and overseeing team members to ensure outstanding customer focused service, demonstrated through product knowledge, fresh products preparation, and dedication to quality is our goal.

Working Environment:

The Service Team Shift Supervisor works in a retail, fresh products, prepared foods and service counter environment. Duties may include a combination of oversight and training of team members in cashiering, stocking merchandise, preparing and stocking fresh products for display and consumption in the prepared foods service areas and counters. In this team-based position, you will promote a high level of customer focused service for our shoppers and maintain a safe and productive environment for our employees.  Team oversight may also involve frequent periods of time working in walk in coolers and freezers. Direct and interactive communication with customers and team members on the retail service floor, and counter areas will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

Retail Meat and Seafood Cutter I

This Skill Based position works all aspects of our full service retail meat and seafood counters. Outstanding customer service, demonstrated through product knowledge, preparation, and dedication to quality is our goal.

Working Environment:

The Cutter I works in retail, service counter, and preparation areas.  This can involve frequent and extended periods of time in chilled and freezer environments working with a variety of natural animal products.  There is frequent use of potentially dangerous equipment and machinery used in the cutting and preparation of meat and seafood products.  Direct and interactive communication with customers and team members on the retail service floor, and counter areas will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience cutting all varieties and cuts of fresh meats in a restaurant, grocery or locker/ meat market setting.
  • Knowledge of seafood products and preparation
  • Possess outstanding knife skills
  • Experience in preparing specialty products (sausage, smoked, and meal ready)
  • Demonstrated retail customer service experience and skills

This skills-based position oversees and directs all activities of our service-focused retail produce department. The Team Leader will actively train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff to role model exceptional customer focused service while promoting New Pioneer’s brand and product lines.

Working Environment:

The Produce Team Leader works in retail grocery, fresh product preparation, and office environments.  This can involve frequent and extended periods of time in chilled and wet environments working with a variety of natural and highly perishable products.  There is frequent use of trimming knives, bending, lifting and carrying, and extended periods of creating and maintaining displays and cases, as well as general computer, phone, and office requirements.  Extensive direct and interactive communication with vendors, customers, administrative support, and team members on the retail service floor will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated drive to provide superior customer service.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a retail grocery store produce sales environment as a lead, assistant manager, or senior department staff.
  • Outstanding merchandising skills with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed New Pioneer product standards (selection and display).

Store Team Leader

This customer service (external/internal) and performance focused Leadership position is responsible for all aspects of our retail grocery store operations.  The Store Team Leader oversee all Team Members and directs and facilitates developing skills to effectively and consistently deliver operational success and promote the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Working Environment:

The Store Team Leader works in a retail, prepared foods, and office environment. Responsibilities will include a combination of oversight, development, training, and evaluation of team members at all levels of the location. There will be extended periods of standing, walking, computer, phone, and office requirements. Extensive direct and interactive communication with customers, administrative support, and team members on the retail service floor and prepared foods areas will be a daily occurrence.

In this team based position you will promote a high level of customer focused service for our shoppers and maintain a respectful, safe and productive environment for our valued team members. Exceptional store execution will be a daily expectation demonstrated through exceeding retail standard and maintaining a clean and well maintained facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business or a related field

Working Environment:

The Team Leader works in a retail, kitchen, and office environment.  This position requires frequent periods of time in chilled storage environments as well as frequent use, and oversight of use, of commercial kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and slicers. Extensive direct and interactive communication with customers, prepared foods, production (bakery and central kitchen), administrative support, and team members on the retail service floor will be a daily occurrence.

Utility Kitchen Support Team (North Liberty location)

This task focused position works all utility and support aspects in our professional production kitchen and bakery. Outstanding teamwork demonstrated through a strong work ethic, efficient task performance, productivity and dedication to quality is our goal.

Working Environment:

This team member works in a utility/support role in a professional kitchen and bakery environment at our North Liberty production hub.  This position will involve frequent and extended periods of time, in a wet and steamy area, operating a commercial sanitation unit as well as general cleaning tasks. A kitchen support team member may also perform food preparation tasks requiring basis knife skills and the ability to follow recipes as well as packaging products for our retail locations. Schedules will include standing, walking, reaching and lifting on a frequent basis with occasional periods of time in walk in coolers and freezers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Verifiable work experience with excellent tenure and attendance
  • Restaurant, institution, or food service experience

Working Environment:

The Specialty Team Leader works in a retail grocery store and office environment.  This will involve regular and extended periods of time interacting with customers, category coordinators, retail staff, and vendors in order to deliver an exceptional variety of cheeses, regional and local beers and spirits, as well as wines from around the world.  Continuous education and training of staff to provide exceptional service is a priority.  In addition to general computer, phone, and office requirements, there is frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and merchandising to create and maintain displays on the retail floor. Interaction with administrative support and team members on the retail service floor will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated drive to provide superior customer service.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a retail specialty foods or wine/spirits sales environment as a lead, manager or assistant manager.
