Point of Sale (POS) Specialist

This support and skills-based position will function as a primary data input specialist to ensure the accuracy of New Pioneer Cooperative’s database of products and merchandise sold in our stores. The role is key in the verification, maintenance and accuracy of our inventory and pricing structure database.

Working Environment:

The POS Specialist works in an office and retail grocery store environment.  The position requires the ability to manually enter data, with the use of a key board or other electronic devices, for long periods of time with accuracy. Extensive direct and interactive communication with Team Leaders, administrative support and operations team members will be a daily occurrence. In addition there will be extended periods in a seated position entering and reviewing data on workstation monitors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Verifiable work experience with excellent tenure and attendance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with a POS database, data entry or information technology environment
  • Demonstrated retail customer service experience with strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform necessary tasks independently
  • Computer knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Verifiable experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and POS back office software highly preferred

This position requires a committed schedule to include opening, closing, weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis as required to meet the needs of our retail operations.

The Point of Sale Specialist is a full-time hourly position with a benefits package and a starting hourly wage of $14.60.

Online Personal Shopper - Customer Experience Team

This shopper service focused position will be responsible for receiving and fulfilling online and digital orders placed by our valued customers. The Personal Shopper is a direct resource to ensure our customers have their shopping completed and ready with ease and confidence.

Working Environment:

The Personal Shopper works in a retail, service and digital communication environment.  This physical and interactive position will involve frequent and extended periods of time on the retail sales floor, walk in freezers and coolers in order to select the highest quality products and freshest items to meet our valued shoppers expectations. Prompt direct and digital communication with our shoppers will be an ongoing daily occurrence. Use of handheld devices, tablets, scanners, and desktop workstations will be regular activities of this position.

Qualifications:

Prepared Foods Team Leader

This developing Team Leader position oversees and directs the activities of an instore deli counter, finishing and catering kitchen, off-site café and prepared foods displays and cases.  The Team Lead will actively train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff to role model exceptional customer service while promoting New Pioneer’s brand and product lines.

Working Environment:

The Team Leader works in a retail, kitchen, and office environment.  This position requires frequent periods of time in chilled storage environments as well as frequent use, and oversight of use, of commercial kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and slicers. Extensive direct and interactive communication with customers, prepared foods, production (bakery and central kitchen), administrative support, and team members on the retail service floor will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position in a food service environment.
  • Ability to consistently project a friendly, open, and service oriented demeanor.
  • Enthusiasm for working in fast-paced creative environment.

The Retail Prepared Foods Team Leader is an exempt professional position with an annual salary of $48,000 and company sponsored benefits package.

Shift Supervisor

This customer focused supervisory position works all aspects of our full service retail grocery and prepared foods stores. Supporting and overseeing team members to ensure outstanding customer focused service, demonstrated through product knowledge, preparation, and dedication to quality is our goal.

Working Environment:

The Service Team Shift Supervisor works in a retail and prepared foods service counter environment. Duties may include a combination of oversight and training of team members in cashiering, stocking merchandise, preparing and stocking fresh products for display and consumption in the prepared foods service areas and counters. In this team based position you will ensure a high level of customer focused service for our shippers and maintain a safe and productive environment for our employees.  Team oversight may also involve frequent periods of time working in walk in coolers and freezers. Direct and interactive communication with customers and team members on the retail service floor, and counter areas will be a daily occurrence.

Utility Prep Cook (North Liberty location)

This task focused position works all utility aspects of our professional production kitchen and bakery. Outstanding customer service, demonstrated through an outstanding work ethic, task performance, productivity and dedication to quality is our goal.

Working Environment:

The Utility Prep Cook works in a utility/support role in a professional kitchen and bakery environment.  This will involve frequent and extended periods of time, in a wet and steamy area, operating a commercial sanitation unit as well as general cleaning tasks. Other tasks will involve labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves to be organized and easily accessible, measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking, preparing simple dishes such as salads, soups, entrees etc., prepares cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc., and maintains the kitchen/cooking environment clean and safe for all staff members and takes on culinary tasks as they arise.  Schedules will include frequent periods of time in walk in coolers and freezers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Meat and Seafood Cutter

This Skill Based position works all aspects of our full service retail meat and seafood counters. Outstanding customer service, demonstrated through product knowledge, preparation, and dedication to quality is our goal.

Working Environment:

The Cutter works in retail, service counter, and preparation areas.  This can involve frequent and extended periods of time in chilled and freezer environments working with a variety of natural animal products.  There is frequent use of potentially dangerous equipment and machinery used in the cutting and preparation of meat and seafood products.  Direct and interactive communication with customers and team members on the retail service floor, and counter areas will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience cutting all varieties and cuts of fresh meats in a restaurant, grocery or locker/ meat market setting.
  • Knowledge of seafood products and preparation
  • Possess outstanding knife skills
  • Experience in preparing specialty products (sausage, smoked, and meal ready)
  • Demonstrated retail customer service experience and skills
  • Familiarity with organic and natural foods
  • Attention to detail and ability to work long hours
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 – 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Experience on all machinery and equipment used in a full service meat and seafood preparation facility

As a Bread or Pastry Scratch Baker you will be working in a professional bakery and kitchen environment. This position requires frequent use and oversight of commercial bakery/kitchen equipment including large batch mixers, stoves, ovens, and proofers. Direct and interactive communication with prepared foods team members (pastry and bread bakery and kitchen) daily and with retail facilities team members frequently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months food service experience, preferably institutional or commercial bakery.

Working Environment:

In this creative, production, and oversight role you will be working in a professional bakery and kitchen environment. This position will require a high degree of manual dexterity and attention to detail while maintaining established product standards. There will be frequent use of commercial kitchen equipment including mixers, food processors, stoves, ovens, and knives. The workplace environment may also include frequent periods of time in walk in coolers and freezers. Direct and interactive communication with prepared foods team members (bakery and kitchen) daily and with retail facilities team members frequently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a food service environment with deli and catering responsibilities.
  • Experience with product development, menu planning, and costing software (Master Chef, ChefTec).
  • Experience in a supervisory role – training and directing others.
