Gourmet Grilled Peaches

Watch your guests lose their manners enjoying this dish. It’s not uncommon to see grown adults licking their plates and begging for more!


4 large fresh peaches, halved and pitted (leave peel on)
½ c. white sugar
1 ½ c. balsamic vinegar
1 T. freshly ground black pepper
5-6 oz. Maytag blue cheese, crumbled

Combine sugar, balsamic vinegar, and pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until liquid has reduced by half and set aside to cool. Sauce will thicken and have a slightly syrupy consistency.

To cook peaches, lightly oil your grate and place peaches cut side down over medium heat and cook 3-5 minutes, until the peach is caramelized. Turn peaches and lightly brush with the balsamic glaze and cook another 2-3 minutes. Handle cooked peaches carefully so they don’t break. (I recommend a spatula.)

Carefully place a cooked peach half in a serving dish, drizzle with balsamic glaze, and sprinkle with crumbled Maytag blue cheese.
